Bird Boxes

Bird box making Report by Laura Berezynskyj and Nicola Bell

On Saturday 2nd February, Sutton Conservation Society held a bird box making morning.
There were 3 girls, 3 boys, 3 men, 6 ladies *. I enjoyed making my bird box because I got to use the nail and hammer to put it together. I would like to make another one. I'm going to take it home and put it in my garden, facing North, so that in the summer the sun doesn't make it to hot. If it's to hot the bird will die.
* There were a further 3 men and 1 lady that went to put up some bird boxes for a local group of Corn Buntings.

Stankers Pond We have over recent months dug out the pond and started to restore it to its former glory. It is surviving well at the moment and we are building up a photographic record of the ongoing improvements.
